To Galaxies and Beyond

Billions of galaxies exist within the universe, and our own Milky Way is
just one. While astronomers know that
galaxies began to form soon after the
Big Bang, questions remain how they
formed and grew. Ata Sarajedini,
Ph.D., studies stars that vary in their brightness to better understand the
galaxies’ formation and evolution, and
answer questions regarding the age
of the universe.
