Sherrie makes size and placement the priority on this uncharacteristically large canvas for a demonstration. After starting and wiping it off once, she finds the placement she wants and after quickly laying in the darks, she proceeds to the lights. With thick paint and broad strokes, she lays in the head and beard to give a startling feeling of the model. She is set up nicely for Part 2, when the light is developed more and the character of the model is captured.
