Beaver Creek in West-Central Wisconsin has very diverse biota, i.e., fauna, flora, and funga. These video clips from 2024 show a gyromitra fairy ring. As shown, a couple of our favorite Beaver Creek Bears, Huey and Slick, got around to checking their false morel spots a little bit late this past year. Slick is seen a little later checking on his pheasant back spots....again a little late as the pheasant back were way past their prime and decaying.
We also see that red squirrels love the kind of yellow amanita that grow along Beaver Creek. Squirrels love to take certain mushrooms home for winter storage, including yellow amanitas (please do not eat amanitas, most are toxic to humans).
We conclude with a few non-fungi videos, namely we see (i) "Dark Doe" and her two fawns (several of the Beaver Creek deer are losing their color or pigmentation); (ii) a doe playing with a wood duck floating along Beaver Creek; (iii) two coyotes crossing Beaver Creek while on the hunt; and (iv) finally a coyote prancing down a snow-covered Beaver Creek bed.
