The redesigned Shimano Grappler A Series Type Slow J rods are designed explicitly for slow-pitch jigging and are available in four models: Medium Light, Medium, Medium Heavy, and Heavy. All Grappler A Type Slow Jigging rods feature Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies for torsional rigidity, reduced blank twist, and fine-tuned rod action. This technology suite makes them powerful yet lightweight — ideal for all-day jigging. Each Grappler A Type Slow J model comes equipped with Fuji guides and a CI4+ reel seat, which is light, sensitive, and ergonomic. The Medium Light model is rated for up to 260g jigs, Medium goes to 330g, Medium Heavy is rated 400g jigs and 13 lbs of drag, and the new Heavy model can handle fishing with 500g jigs, ideal for deepwater or strong current fishing. Each Grappler A Type Slow J rod is also rated for max drag at 45 degrees.
