Discovered a new aesthetic cafe in Taman Johor Jaya - Niko Niko Onigiri which was observed to have long queues during peak hours. With another outlet in KL, this is the newest in Johor Bahru which recently opened for about 2 months.
A quirky, aquarium-themed café in Johor Bahru— cozy, charming interiors, IG‑worthy décor, and, of course, the star of the show: onigiri.
Onigiris are freshly made-to-order and I had mine served warm.
Niko Niko also has affordable breakfast set (from RM 6.50) which comes with an onigiri, miso soup, and fresh salad (available from 8:30am to 11am).
Lunch menu with main dishes including donburis, noodles start in the afternoon.
Hot seats are by the fish tanks where diners like to take pictures with the school of fish. For bigger groups, there is a corner seat under the skylight with onigiri window and a mosaic design of a child munching an onigiri. Perfect picture spot.
Taste wise - the rice was soft and portion is good. Overall, the onigiri taste good.
