4 tips for a successful youth fitness program

How do we make exercise more accessible for every kid in the world?
Watch and read below on 4 tips to make navigating the fitness world easier for neurodiverse youth.
1. Structured Routine: Studies show that neurodiverse kids thrive under routine. Find the best date/time to incorporate exercise every week and stick to it!
2. Sensory Considerations: Think about the different sensory experiences in your gym/ workout space. What can you reduce/ eliminate to make the space less overwhelming?
3. Add Visuals: Use diagrams, drawings or even visual cards to help cue a new exercise or routine in addition to verbal and physical cues.
4. Listen and let them set boundaries: At the end of the day, you are here to listen and help every individual get better. If an exercise is too much, let them take a break and come back to it later.
