Slovenia is a small country in Central Europe but contains within its borders Alpine mountains, thick forests, historic cities, and a short Adriatic coastline.

Slovenia was the first former Yugoslav republic to join the European Union, in May 2004 - shortly After joining Nato.

It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the North, Hungary to the Northeast, Croatia to the Southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the Southwest.

Slovenia has a population of 2.1 million people. (Census 2020)

It offers an abundance of natural beauty.

I live in the town of Pivola, which is located in the municipality of Hoče - Slivnica (Občina Hoče - Slivnica) is a municipality south of Maribor in northeastern Slovenia.
Its administrative seat is Spodnje Hoče.

The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria.
It is now included in the Drava Statistical Region.

The municipality extends from the flatlands on the right bank of the Drava River into the Pohorje Hills.

My house is in Pivola and is surrendered by a forest with lush pine trees.
When it snows it looks just like a photo from a postcard.
It's just breathless!!

I call it the sleepy town because we are in the countryside and it's very laid back and quiet.
Especially in the area where I live surrounded by farms and wild animals.
