In this video Ruth recounts her journey working in a supported living service. From being a support worker, to becoming the most senior member of the leadership team.
Ruth is the Nominated Individual for Ace Community Services (formerly Caprani Care). It is a supported living and community support service for people with a learning disability and/or a mental health problem.
The Nominated Individual provides strategic oversight. They ensure that the organisation meets its ethical, financial, and regulatory obligations. They also support the care team in maintaining high standards.
Ruth had her eye on leadership from the beginning as a support worker. She undertook training to be a nurse, then explored social care from there.
