Unlock the chambers of your imagination with Craft Resin! This video is an elaborate step-by-step tutorial on how to make a clock using epoxy resin and wood.
️⃣ Place the slab into your mould, make sure to fix it properly.
️⃣ Mix parts A and B in 2:1 ratio – two resin and one hardener. Always measure by volume and not by weight!
️⃣ Add river sand into the resin mix, stir thoroughly for 3-5 minutes. Avoid vigorous mixing not to introduce excess air bubbles.
️⃣ Lay out the resin with sand on the edge of the wood to form a sea shore shape.
️⃣ Mix another two portions of resin and add different shades of blue, mixing thoroughly until the colour is solid.
️⃣ Mix a small amount of resin with titanium dioxide to create waves.
️⃣ Pour the coloured resin into the mould, spread it well with a mixing stick, creating an oceanic pattern. If necessary, use a burner to remove surface air bubbles.
️⃣ When the resin thickens a bit, blow onto the resin with a construction dryer to create waves. Do not use a blow dryer for hair!
️⃣ In 24 hours, prepare another mix of transparent resin and pour it onto your project. Leave it to cure for another 48 hours.
🔟 After the resin is fully hardened, sand and polish the piece, then add the clock mechanism and apply the digits. You’re all set!
