Hey Guys! In this video, John explains his experience as an interviewer for Yale University. He's been doing this for 15 years.

He'll answer:
What to expect in the College Interview Process
What's the goal of the interview?
Will the interviewer know about you before they sit down? Will they have read through your application or essays?
What kinds of questions can you expect the interviewer to ask?
What is the interviewer trying to "figure out" about you.
What will the "output" of the interview be - what does the interviewer prepare afterwards?
Does how well the interview goes always correlate to if the person gets in?
Out of every 10 interviews he does, how many get in?
What's the weight of the interview in the college application process?

Common mistakes:
Reciting your resume, college essays, etc.
Answering questions just to make the interviewer "happy"
telling instead of showing during the interview process
Just scratching the surface of a meaningful life event and failing to explain how it changed you, and what you want to do going forward
Focusing too much on being well rounded instead of being "pointy"
Being too nervous to effectively communicate
preparing so much that you're just "reciting" the material you've memorized
failing to have fun in the interview
