With so many AI chatbots and tools being shoved into everything, I wanted to take a more grounded approach. That's why I built Artie, my desk companion made with some HTML, JavaScript, and a 40 year old CRT TV.
Besides just being able to answer general questions, Artie can use a set of tools I've provided to do things like pull data from local APIs or send formatted reports to the dot matrix printer in my office. The possibilities are endless! (your mileage my vary).
This was mainly built for fun, and to play around with getting a rudimentary AI assistant working from scratch. Choosing to use JavaScript and HTML just made the challenge more exciting!
