I visited Montrose, met with some of the locals and I think this might be the best town in Scotland. I found the locals so friendly, that I went ack the next day. The town has a population of about 12,000 people. The 220m steeple of the Old and St. Andrew's church can be seen from almost anywhere in the town, and it is the home of the UK's largest inland salt water basin, the Montrose Basin, which is considered a nature reserve of international importance, and an important habitat for the mute swan. It has beautiful architecture , with its wide high street and picturesque closes and secluded gardens. I loved the museum which is free to enter, and the sandy beach stretches for miles. The town was founded around 1140. Its also the home of the first operational military aerodrome, which I will visit in another video, established in 1913 as the Royal Flying Corps, later the RAF Montrose. All in all I loved it there.
