THANDIZENI Amayi a Mulungu Maria, (Come to my aid, Mother Mary, Mother of God)

The song (lyrics from Malawi's Catholic Prayers and Hymn Book, Buku la Nyimbo ndi Mapemphero No. 174) drives home a powerful message that the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is real, authentic, genuine and powerful.

Chosen by God Himself to be "His Mother"
Set apart by God Himself to be "Full of Grace"
Proclaimed by God Himself through Angel Gabriel that she will be the Mother of Jesus
All this points to the fact of our going to her to seek intercession for our needs.

In addition, the Wedding at Cana (John 2:1-11) clearly gives a testimony that:

Life is a journey and sometimes "Wine dries out" during the journey....Wine as a Symbol of Joy points to the fact that our journey sometimes faces challenges and sorrows. Where do we run to to reclaim our Joy, to reclaim our Wine🍷?

"Wawathera Vinyo" (There is no Wine" and "Do whatever He tells you to do"....these are powerful intercessions that Mary is making firstly to Jesus, telling him that the people are in need of Wine, in need of Joy. Later she tells the disciples to do as Jesus will command them. In the end, the people rejoice in taking "sweeter Wine" than before as a result of Mary's intercession as well as the disciple's role in the act of Obedience and doing their part.

As we sing THANDIZENI Amayi a Mulungu Maria...Come to my aid Mother Mary, Mother of God let's do that with deep Faith in God through her intercession.

Let us remember that the Rosary remains our powerful weapon against evil.
Let us remember that it was the same powerful intercession of Mary that led to the historic Victory of Christianity over her enemies (Lepanto Battle).

Mary is indeed Our Lady of the Rosary!
Mary is indeed Our Lady of Victory!

Let us also always remember that prayers go hand in hand with action, thus our part in doing what Jesus tells us.
