After real estate was removed from the list of qualifying investments for the Golden Visa, and with all the noise in this space about qualifying investment funds and more alternative routes into the Golden Visa, I’m often asked: how can we make a more traditional investment into an established city like Lisbon and still get access to Europe’s premier pathway to a second citizenship?

And that’s precisely what we shall be looking at today, with a special focus on the hospitality sector. We’ll begin with a couple of key fundamental questions, namely "why Lisbon?" and "why the hospitality sector?"

After that, an interesting new opportunity that I’d like to bring to the table, which is a fund-based hotel opportunity in the Lisbon area. We will of course begin by taking a look at some fundamentals: including the location and a brief overview of the hotel itself, before then diving into the concrete investment case it presents for GV investors.
