The White House National Security Council and the Domestic Policy Council, in collaboration with National Peace Corps Association, carried out this webinar on the opportunity to sponsor refugees and bring them to safety in the United States through the Welcome Corps program.
The Welcome Corps is a U.S. Department of State initiative that makes it possible for Americans to sponsor refugees through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, the legal pathway that enables refugees to permanently resettle in the United States on a path to citizenship. The webinar shared exciting updates about the Welcome Corps, providing tools to help spread the word.
Senior Administration officials from the National Security Council and Domestic Policy Council hosted the call, and senior staff from the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration at the U.S. Department of State and the Welcome Corps team joined to explain how the program works. Former Peace Corps volunteers who have sponsored refugees through Welcome Corps also joined the call.
Recorded August 28, 2024.
