I decided to go more "new production" than my last unboxing video ( • Cracking Open a Crate: 1953 Bulgarian 7.62... ) by adding a 30+ year old can of Romanian 7.62x25 Tokarev ammunition. I wasn't working with trying to preserve a 60+ year old wooden crate and dealing with metal covered in lead dust, so things went more smoothly on this one.
The technique used to open these cans is essentially the same as with the more common 7.62x54r Mosin ammo spam cans, but I still took my time to demonstrate the process for anyone who hasn't done it before. Plus, I wanted to savor the moment of opening up something that was sealed up decades ago. These things are like time capsules and I think it's worth the extra few minutes to give a little respect to their historical value. Yes, I know it is possible to open them faster than 2 1/2 minutes. Maybe I'll post a speed test video on a can of Mosin ammo next, unless someone from the peanut gallery beats me to it!
Thanks for watching. I plan to have my chronograph test video posted at some point before the end of the decade.
