Have you ever wondered how this colorful, self-crystallizing material is created? You might have seen a video where melted metal transforms into precisely constructed shapes. This material is called bismuth crystal, and, surprisingly, it is very easy to make since bismuth melts at a relatively low temperature of 271 degrees Celsius. Once melted, the metal is poured into a container where it begins to cool. During this process, impurities and oxides form on the surface of the liquid, which must be carefully removed to ensure the final crystal has a clean and aesthetic structure. To shape the crystal, an object is placed at the center of the liquid to serve as a core.
