The coming together of friends, family, colleagues or even strangers to celebrate an occasion brings a sense of belonging and community spirit. Laughter, singing, dancing, smiling and connecting with others are all essential elements for optimal quality of life. Celebration Srefidensi was on November 26th, 2023 in Theater Thalia Suriname. We celebrated the independence of Sranan and, as an important basis, also the strength and independence of our Sranan Uma with an all female line up.
Artists: Norma Santé, dance school Satrangi, vocal ensemble by Rachidi Sanches, Sisters in Music by Carol Redmond, Robina Vliet, Pencak Silat Pamor Badai Suriname, Tai Chi United, Sambura Nawondo, wordsmith Jeccy
55 artists between 16 and 55 years, from Javanese, Maroon, Creole, Hindustani, Indigenous and Chinese groups, with a performance in singing, dancing, word art, martial arts and music.
