I used 2 skeins of Wool-Ease Thick and Quick. I chose a variegated yarn and the one I used is called Astroland. This is super bulky and great for beginners!

I used a 10mm size N crochet hook for my scarf, even though the yarn label called for a 9mm. I felt the crochet swatch was better with a size-up hook. The Bamboo hooks I have come from this inexpensive set I got online. And, I was able to easily carry this hook on a plane!
