SESSION #7 MEMPHIS Blues Jazz

The streets of Memphis in the 1950s vibrated with a new energy. Beale Street still breathes the blues, while recording studios preserve within their walls the sound that changed music history. In this session, we explore Memphis through its avenues, parks, and venues where the blues became urban, amplified, and timeless.

A focus-oriented Electric Blues Jazz session built on a solid, steady shuffle groove. Jazz embraces the pulse of Memphis blues, keeping melodies clear and solos virtuosic yet controlled. Niro on electric guitar, Kokocho on walking double bass, Blitz holding the shuffle, Aura on tenor sax and harmonica, and The Professor on percussive piano create a stable, deep, and concentrated foundation.

ABOUT MIDNIGHT BIRDS JAZZ BAND

Midnight Birds Jazz Band transforms travel into sound, creating jazz sessions shaped by cities, cultures, and late-night atmospheres. Each release blends contemporary jazz with regional accents, strong groove, and expressive improvisation, designed to accompany focus, work, and reflective moments without losing musical depth. Every session works as a sonic postcard, capturing the rhythm, texture, and character of a place through elegant, immersive instrumental storytelling.

The band is formed by five musicians. Niro plays strings, moving between guitars, violin, oud, and mandolin. Kokocho anchors the sound on bass and double bass. Blitz shapes time through percussion, from jazz brushes to global hand drums. Aura brings melody and air with saxophones, clarinets, and regional flutes. The Professor, on piano and other instruments, builds the harmonic structure that connects everything.
