Today’s vlog takes us back to Redding District in Lacovia, St. Elizabeth, one of the hardest-hit communities during Hurricane Melissa. We came to check on the homes that were severely flooded… but what we found was not what we expected.
Weeks after the hurricane, people are still forced to walk through a deep pool of dirty, stagnant water just to reach the main road. This has cut off an entire section of the community from relief trucks, supplies, and basic assistance.
So today, we decided to walk in their footsteps — literally — and cross the same dirty water to reach the isolated side of the district and document their situation.
This vlog is an eye-opener into the ongoing challenges faced by residents who have been left behind.
