And the magazine's cover literally reflects that.
It shows a white keyboard with a mirror for a computer screen where buyers can see their reflections.

The annual honor to each and every one of us who used or created content on the Internet... And shaped public opinion.

SOT: from myspace, to youtube individuals were changing the way we vote, we percieve the war, changing politics, changing commerce. It's a transformational age where the citizens of this digital democracy are changing everything.

And Time's Editor said in this digital age, ordinary people were able to use the web to act as citizen journalists on some of this year's most talked about stories.

But if the magazine did choose an individual, it likely would have gone to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Last year's winners were Bill and Melinda Gates and rock star Bono.
They were honored for their charitable work and activism aimed at reducing global poverty and improving world health.
