Learn how Notifier’s addressable control modules /relay modules – FRM-1 and FCM-1 – work, and how to wire them properly in a fire alarm system.
In this video, we’ll explain:
➤"The difference between FRM-1 (Relay Module) and FCM-1 (Control Module)"
➤"Where and how to use each module"
➤"Wiring diagrams for typical applications (e.g., door holders, dampers, sounders)"
➤"How these modules communicate with the fire alarm control panel"
➤"Programming basics in an addressable fire alarm system"
✅ Suitable for use with Notifier AFP-200, NFS2-640, NFS-3030, and more.
📌 Perfect for technicians, installers, and students learning fire alarm systems
📐 Wiring Overview:
🔧 FRM-1 Wiring (Dry Contact Relay):
Terminals: SLC IN (+/-), SLC OUT (+/-), COM / NO / NC (relay contacts)
Used for: Elevator recall, fan shutdown, door control
🔧 FCM-1 Wiring (Supervised Control Output):
Terminals: SLC IN/OUT, Output (+/-), EOL resistor at the end
Used for: Sirens, strobes, NAC circuits (limited current output)
*️⃣ Key Module Differences (Explain in Video):
|▶ FRM-1( Relay output module ): Used to activate non-powered devices (like door holders, fans, HVAC) using dry contact.
|▶ FCM-1( Control module ): Controls powered output (e.g., sounders, strobes, sirens) with supervision
