Mixing Music in Dolby Atmos with the Avid S4 pt. 3 - Setting Up your Atmos Session

Avid Audio Solutions Specialist Tony Joy shows us how he sets up his S4 Control Surface for an efficient workflow when mixing music in Dolby Atmos.
By utilizing custom layouts and spill zones in the S4, he shows how he can access any track in his mix at the push of a button. In this setup, Tony uses eight of the S4's sixteen faders as a VCA bank and the remaining eight faders as his spill zone for ease of use across multiple sessions. Of course, the S4's custom layouts are user-assignable, so you can fine-tune your workflow to perfectly meet your needs.
