The female scholar athlete of the month for October is Grace Colangelo from the golf team. Grace, a senior, is competing in her fourth season for the Golden Flyers. She helped Nazareth to a team victory at the Keuka Invitational and was a match play winner in the Golden Flyers dual match win at Geneseo.
Last year she helped Nazareth win the team title at the Empire 8 Fall Classic finishing 21st overall. She has twice been named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List for academic excellence.
Grace, from Vienna, Virginia, has a 3.96 GPA and is majoring in Music Composition at Nazareth University.
The male scholar athlete of the month for October is Gibson Spector from the soccer team. Gibson is a senior forward for the Golden Flyers. This has been his most productive season at Nazareth with 14 start, he’s second on the team lead with 11 points on five goals and one assist.
Gibson was named E-8 Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his two goal game in a win over the U of R. Last year he scored two game winning goal, he has also been named to the Empire 8 Presidents’ List three times.
Gibson, from Fairport, New York is a Mathematics major and has a 3.78 grade point average at Nazareth University.
