It was a clear and warm evening as Carlo my pal and I decided to swing around Johannesburg and Soweto. He was also swinging the GoPro around so that you can see the changing light and our process over an hour.
There were a few planes buzzing about. As we headed back to Lanseria a Diamond was downwind 240, and a third plane was doing an instrument approach from the east.
The brilliant ATC slotted us in between the two and we touched down just as the Diamond turned into Alpha 2 taxiway.
It was one of these perfectly timed decisions from the Tower ATC.
Aircraft number 3 thanked her for excellent control of the aircraft about her and I seconded his comment. I wish more tower controllers would make the kind of thinking on the feet decision she made.
