This is from 2010 or so: an audio experiment - playing a synth while peaking (say between hours 2-5) on LSD. If you've done something like this or know of others out there I'd like to check them out. More below:
The music was played and recorded in real-time...didn't notice the massive background hissing and occasional distortion while playing, I suppose the senses were amplified elsewhere. From the 3 hours of recorded noise I cut large sections out where the sound is just searching, so we're left here with 8 coherent(ish) slabs of droney synth ambience. No editing or processing.
I think the first half-hour or so are ok to listen to, but the last 15 minutes are a bit of a struggle (perception of time & sound very warped by that point).
Did we learn anything from this recording? Well, its obvious quality-control goes out the window, but it's also interesting how the mood & 'colour' is consistent throughout. And I quite like that careless cosmic vibe, my sober recordings feel a bit more clinical.
If you're a responsible psychonaut and synthman, maybe try something like this yourself :)
