Update: They are home — safely.
In my previous video, we followed the story of two Eritrea-born Tigrayans who were deported to Tigray and expressed a clear desire to return to Asmara — the only home they had ever known.
In this follow-up, I share confirmed good news. The young men have now returned safely to Eritrea, without incident.
I’m joined in this 10-minute interview by a Tigrayan journalist, Nile Weldegiorghis @Nile-media who was directly involved in ensuring their safe passage and successful return. This conversation focuses on verification, accountability, and outcomes — not politics.
This is what people-to-people peace-building looks like in practice: coordination, trust, and quiet follow-through.
