Second video in the adventure in T gauge series.
WE HAVE MADE A START!!!!!
Still haven't got into our new location so don't have my bench set up or my tools with me,....but we have to make do hey???
The brief for the layout was that it has to be limited to 900 x 600mm (that's the size board I have and also to let it be carried from place to place) but still interesting not just a plain loop on a flat board. SO... we ambitiously designed a convoluted fig 8 layout with gradients, tunnels, scenic landscape, all very grand until we really thought about T gauge and thought "Nah let's do something simple instead" and hence the coastal canyon design was born. The track is set on the coast winding around the curves and between the hills and cliffs until it comes to a small fishing town.
So you will still get the train disappearing and reappearing. The set came with the two sensors to automate the train sending it back and forth so thought we might use these and do an end to end
Having the track fully exposed lets us maintain it and clean it easier, plus hopefully when viewing it from above it will be like an aerial photo! so bonus there
Anyway with no bench work to do it was straight onto the base board and designing
Hope you get something out of this...
