Yala National Park, located in the southeast of Sri Lanka, is renowned for its diverse wildlife and striking landscapes. Spanning over 979 square kilometers, Yala is a haven for animal enthusiasts, featuring a high density of leopards, elephants, and a myriad of bird species. The park's varying terrain includes dry monsoon forests, grasslands, and coastal lagoons, providing a unique ecosystem that supports a wide range of flora and fauna. Visitors can embark on safari tours to witness the park's majestic wildlife up close, making Yala National Park a must-visit destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
We reserved the Mahaselava bungalow, located within the national park, for a two-night stay. The bungalow can accommodate ten adults and two children. We need to provide dry rations, and the bungalow caretakers will prepare the meals.
During our first day's safari, we were lucky enough to see Lucas, a male leopard well-known to the park's visitors. On the second day, we were thrilled to spot a mother bear with her cub, along with several more leopards. Additionally, we were fortunate to witness a rare and fascinating encounter between a viper and a cobra.
We spent two wonderful days in the park with the family, creating unforgettable memories. Join us on #TheTravelBeat channel for more exciting journeys and adventures in the future.
