“Jesus Appears, Commissions, and Ascends” — A Sermon on Luke

🌅 Join us at Twin Villages Church in Damariscotta, Maine, as we hear the closing words of Luke’s Gospel in 24:36–53. The risen Christ appears to His disciples, calming their fears with peace and proving His resurrection with nail-scarred hands. He opens their minds to understand the Scriptures and gives them a mission: to proclaim repentance and forgiveness in His name to all nations.

Then, lifting His hands in blessing, Jesus ascends into heaven—seated in glory and reigning as Lord. His disciples return to Jerusalem with great joy, ready to worship and witness. This passage is a powerful reminder that Christ not only comforts us with His presence but also sends us out in His power to make Him known.

Come and be strengthened by the truth that the risen and ascended Jesus is with us always, guiding, blessing, and sending His church into the world.
