This tutorial explains how to build an electronic "lie detector" game, which can be used in a murder mystery, detective whodunnit, or escape room. Players hear a series of audio clips, which represent the responses a suspect gives when questioned by a detective. They must decide which of these statements are true, and which can be proved to be false based on contradictory evidence - such as other witness testimony, receipts, CCTV footage, mobile phone statements, etc. (If you've ever played the "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" series of games, you'll be familiar with the mechanic!)
This game uses an ESP32, a DY-SV5W MP3 audio player, some arcade buttons, a motor driver and a couple of cheap hobby motors. I'll demonstrate the wiring and all the code used, and it can be built easily for under $20.
