When you patch other instruments into its external audio input, Strega can put its colour on anything. Today, I'm introducing next week's featured instrument: the Arturia MicroFreak. It pairs very well with Strega, having outputs for pitch CV, gate, and "pressure" CV (really capacitive touch area). This recording includes sounds from both the MicroFreak and the Strega played together and processed through Strega's effects (as well as additional Arturia plugins in Ableton: Efx FRAGMENTS, Dist COLDFIRE, and Rev PLATE-140).
Like Strega, MicroFreak is idiosyncratic, and unfortunately I had a lot of technical issues today avoiding accidental triggers of the keyboard and capacitive mode buttons on the MicroFreak. After many attempts, I got an OK take. With luck, I can find workarounds for the next seven days of Jamuary.
