Composed in 1970, this piece is a "hidden classic" of the contemporary percussion solo repertoire. When percussionists talk about early corner stones, usually Morton Feldman's "King of Denmark", Helmut Lachenmann's "Interieur I", Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Zyklus" or John Cage's "27' 10.554" " are mentioned. However, "Time Improvisations" by Filipino composer Ramon P. Santos is often not mentioned - being composed even 5 years earlier than Xenakis' "Psappha"!
