Jeh-sea Wells (Jesse Welles) - Indian Summer [2013]

I will often talk about how Big Gray Sky is the song that I first heard from Jesse all the way back in 2013... but I'm not sure I would be here today if it wasn't for Indian Summer. Since the beginning of this archive channel, since I first discovered Jesse's online communities, I've been talking about this album. This is not only my favorite album by Jesse, but one of my favorite albums ever, and what I believe is Jesse's actual masterpiece.

The album was recorded in December of 2012 (and even had some songs released that month, such as Ma I'm Tired), but not fully released until March 27, 2013. He recorded the album entirely himself in his bedroom, using (at the time) an old version of Sony Acid through a condenser mic. As with many songs from Jesse's "Jeh-sea" days, most of the songs were never touched again after release, with the exception of Hipster Song, which would later turn into "Big Grey Sky" and featured on Dead Indian's "Grey" EP.

Described as a "grunge/folk album", this album blends the two major eras of Jesse's career. It wasn't Jesse's first "folk" album (that one is partially lost), but the earliest album that currently exists in full online of Jesse's career. This was the first "new" album of Jesse for me. This album helped define my teen years, and I got to tell Jesse just how much it meant to me a few times over the years.
