Replace These If Dashboard Is Out 2010-2014 Ford F-150

In this video I go over some components found on the HVAC case that, in my opinion, should be replaced if the dashboard is out of the vehicle on a 2010-2014 Ford F-150. (To the best of my recollection this information is applicable to the 2010-2014 F-150. If your set up looks similar to the one in the video then most likely this information applies.) These components are notorious for failing in my experience so if the dashboard is out it may be more cost effective to just replace these components at that time. These components include the left and right blend door actuators. The left blend door actuator replacement would actually involve having the HVAC case removed as well as it is positioned on the bottom of the case. The blend door actuators have a tendency to strip out and cause a popping noise or completely fail. The other components would be the recirculation door actuator and the recirculation door it's self. Replacement of the recirculation door would also require the complete removal of the HVAC case as well. The actuator fails similarly to the blend door actuators and the recirculation door tends to break. The above mentioned components are either very difficult or impossible to replace with the dashboard installed in the vehicle. If you end up not replacing these items while the dashboard is out you may be sorry you didn't in the near to distant future.
