To celebrate National Science Week 2023 and its theme, ‘Innovation: Powering Future Industries’, we are taking a look at the Polo Flat precast factory in Cooma, which is producing the 130,000 concrete segments needed to line the 27km of excavated tunnels on the Snowy 2.0 Project.
The precast factory has not only created hundreds of jobs locally in Cooma but is also host to cutting-edge technology that is helping improve efficiency, safety, and a reduction to the manufacturing process’ environmental footprint.
Clough, and its parent company Webuild, are part of Future Generation Joint Venture, the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro Limited, delivering the iconic Snowy 2.0 Project – the underpinning of Australia’s transition to a renewable energy future.
