How to find and catch ant queens or colonies in Canada. Due to our more northern location the ants rarely dig as deep because the ground doesn't get as dry. There are a number of ways to find them. From walking on the sidewalk or glancing in a pool, to pulling apart logs and turning over rocks.
Some ants are fully claustral and won't need anything until they get their first workers, while others are semi-claustral and will need food a couple times a week.
