Darth Vader at Washington National Cathedral
In 1986, Washington National Cathedral added a carved “grotesque” of Darth Vader to its northwest tower as part of a nationwide contest to complete the Cathedral. In the 30 years since, Lord Vader has kept a watchful eye over the dark north side of the Cathedral. As it turns out, he does a lot more than that.
