Walk to the Étang de Comte in the Ariège department, Pyrenees, France

24-06-2024 Today we are going for a walk to the Étang de Comte in the Ariège department in the Pyrenees. It is a walk in the Vallée de Mourgouilhou along the mountain stream and through the meadows full of gentians, rhododendrons and broom. During the walk we see the start of the flowering period of the rhododendrons and the end of the flowering period of the broom, a beautiful combination. Given the vegetation in this valley, it is also a beautiful walk to take in the autumn when all the trees have changed colour, or a little earlier in the spring when all the broom is in full bloom.
