Join me on a Mountain Trek to a Hidden Trout Lake in Newfoundland — a true off-trail camping adventure.
🚶 Along the way I leave the trail behind, pushing through dense bush, climbing steep hills, and walking rugged rocky coastline to reach a remote beach. Signs of moose, bear, and other wildlife remind me I’m deep in the backcountry.
🫐 Fuel comes from the land itself — cloudberries, raspberries, and blueberries picked and eaten while hiking.
🎣 At a hidden trout lake, I catch and cook fresh trout for lunch before continuing the journey. By evening, I set up a bear-proof beach camp and cook a hearty moose stew over the fire, knowing bears frequent this shoreline.
⛰️ This trip tested my limits to total exhaustion — but rewarded me with wild food, untouched wilderness, and the raw beauty of Newfoundland.
