Hey everyone! My name is Ben Wirjo and I'm a professional drummer from the USA currently living in Spain. I'm available for online recording sessions, touring, and private lessons; both in person and online. Able to travel around the world.

In collaboration with Meinl Cymbals, Sonor Drum Co., and Union Musical Española, I've started a video series where I cover various songs from the different styles that have influenced me as a drummer throughout my early career. While recording, I'm trying to respect both the musical composition of the original song and the original production of the drums. At the same time, I'm trying to showcase the versatility of both Meinl Cymbals and Sonor Drums, and my ability as a player to transcend many different styles of music.

In this video, I’m covering the Gorillaz “Feel Good Inc” from their album Demon Days. I was 14 years old when I first heard “Clint Eastwood” and I immediately fell in love with the Gorillaz. The idea of having a virtual band with only two real members blew my mind. I was already into electronic hip hop influences like Deltron 3030, so hearing what the Gorillaz were doing got my immediate attention. The beats seem simple but there are lots of details out into the production. Here, I really try to preserve the original construction of the drums while adding some tasteful fills here and there. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did making it.
