Every character, every dialogue exchange, every single panel is just dripped with significance and has connective tissue elsewhere in the series. Even a mini arc that feels like filler like the Days of Spring trilogy of flashback chapters where we saw a teenaged Guts turned out to be important because it explained how the appearance and disappearance of Astral creatures works in this world. However, like most story tellers, Miura sensei wasn’t perfect.
