This was technically Mario 3 in America when it released in July 1989 until February 1990 when the REAL Super Mario Bros. 3 released in North America.
In order to beat Super Mario Land, you need to beat all 12 levels without warping.
About the game:
Super Mario Land is a 2D platform game. It released on the Nintendo Game Boy as a launch title on July 31, 1989, and April 21 of that year in Japan. In this short 12-level game, Mario leaves the Mushroom Kingdom and goes to Sarasaland to rescue Princess Daisy from the alien Tatanga.
