Roger, our brave 2002 Lexus LX470 with a heart-thumping V8, takes on half the entry hill and back at Ram Offroad Park in Colorado Springs. Tanya’s posted halfway up the incline, capturing the moment as Roger and I climb down from her vantage point to the start of the off-road course—and then back up the hill again.
Steep grades, off-camber angles, and loose terrain test Roger’s traction and composure, but he handles it all with quiet confidence. Again, nothing locked on the 4wd system, just in 4 Low on the transfer case. This isn’t just a drive — it’s a small demonstration of legacy engineering and how much this SUV is not bothered by different terrain types.
