We Hiked an ACTIVE Volcano (not what you think!)

Flores is an incredible island and right in the middle of it, sits the mystifying Kelimutu volcano! 🌋

We had breakfast at gecko homestays in Moni before starting the climb.
Mount Kelimutu is one of the 76 active volcanos on the indonesian Archipelago and in our opinion, one of the best places to visit in Indonesia. It is home to three crater lakes which people call Volcanic Mood Rings because they actually CHANGE COLOUR! Even though each crater is fed underground from the same place all of them are different in colour and can even change throughout the year, sometimes even turning red!

The locals believe there lakes are where those who have passed come to rest and that what sort of person you were will influence which lake you are resting in.

This is on of the coolest sights we get to see on our Indonesia trip and we hope you enjoy watching this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
