this is not an anti john/sara or whatever you might think
(in fact, i am a firm believer in john/sara/laszlo because that would honestly work amazingly)
i just love the similarities between these two! their inquisitive minds, the courage they both display in questioning the outside world, as well as their inner one; and in general, how unconventional they are in their beliefs and in the life path and career they have chosen for themselves; their disdain for social mores, their willingness to speak out against injustice, politeness be damned; their loneliness, too.
and of course, their respective childhood traumas. all that pain, and it only made them kinder.
Kindred spirits, you might say.
