10 Undead Dragons in Different Fiction/Fantasy Worlds

An undead dragon is the reanimated corpse of a deceased dragon, typically brought back to a semblance of life through powerful necromancy or other dark magic. Unlike living dragons, whose power comes from their immense strength, magical abilities, and often-ancient wisdom, undead dragons are sustained by unholy energy. Their appearance is often macabre, with decaying flesh, exposed bone, and glowing, soulless eyes.

While they may lose some of their original abilities, like the capacity for speech or flight, they gain new, chilling traits. They are immune to many things that would affect a living creature, such as poison, disease, and fear, and their attacks are often imbued with necrotic or freezing energy.

Examples of undead dragons are found in many fantasy settings. In the Dungeons & Dragons universe, a dracolich is an undead dragon created through a ritual to become a powerful, lich-like being. In the World of Warcraft franchise, the Lich King's army includes numerous frost wyrms, which are the undead remains of blue dragons. Similarly, in *The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim*, the dragon Durnehviir is a formidable undead dragon that can be summoned to assist the player.
