A Blaze in the Dark Canyon - Bear Ears National Monument

This trip to the Dark Canyon preserve in southeast Utah and Hovenweep National Monument took place in June. I recently replaced my video setup and now I'm just shooting with a Go Pro 13 and my phone in an effort to simplify things. As a result, I found that my previous editing setup was not adequate for the higher frame rate Go Pro footage. It's been a busy summer but as time permitted, I quickly learned Adobe Premier and this is the result of changing everything, lol.

I don't recommend hiking in south Utah during the summer time. This is the last time for me. It's not fun drinking hot water for hydration. Still the 30 mile backpack through Woodenshoe Canyon (which is part of the Bear Ears National Monument and larger Dark Canyon preserve) was a success. We had planned to go really deep into the preserve to Fable Valley, but we found our rental vehicle was not up for the task to get there. After a flat tire, we lost a couple of days and ended the trip in Hovenweep National Monument. Cheers to my friend Jeremy for planning this trip and as always being a great trail mate!
