Dating back over 800 years, Ye Olde Salutation Inn stands as one of Nottingham’s most haunted buildings, steeped in violence, secrecy, and restless spirits. Once a refuge for crusaders, a meeting place for outlaws, and later a notorious stop for highwaymen, its ancient walls have witnessed bloodshed, betrayal, and unexplained deaths.

Investigators have reported aggressive physical attacks, including unexplained scratches, sudden dizziness, and feelings of being pushed or grabbed. Several visitors claim to have experienced spiritual attachments, with activity reportedly following them home—shadow figures, vivid nightmares, and sudden mood changes long after leaving the site.

The cellar and upper floors are said to be the most volatile areas, where apparitions believed to be highwaymen and soldiers have been seen. Disembodied footsteps, growls, and voices calling out in the darkness are common, alongside extreme EMF spikes and objects moving without explanation.

This location is not for the faint-hearted. The Salutation has a reputation for intelligent, sometimes hostile entities that appear aware of investigators and willing to interact—on their own terms.
